We’re proud of the work we do and the relationships we build along the way. Here are a few reviews from homeowners who trusted Northwest Quality Remodel with their projects.
When you want a home remodeling job done just right, these are the folks to hire. Robert has a true passion for excellent craftsmanship and holds his entire crew to the highest quality standards. Everyone on his team is all about putting the customer’s needs first. The photos show the condition of the painted wood deck before construction. A few photos showing the different stages of construction come next, and finally one photo showing the final result.
The people at Northwest Quality Remodel exceeded our expectations. They communicated very well. They explained each step in the process, the cost involved, and any improvements that they are. We could not be happier with the result. They handled the entire project, building an ADU, extensive decking, and landscaping.
Northwest Quality Remodel enclosed our carport and transformed it into a functional and stylish extension of our home. Robert had so many great ideas to make it more of a functional space. The carpenters were very experienced and meticulous of every detail. The price was fair considering all extras I added on, upgraded electrical circuits, changed out all of the exterior lighting, bigger doors, matching cedar siding and replacing 45 year old garage doors. Everything matches perfectly! Couldn’t be happier with entire project!
I highly recommend Robert, Kim and their team at NW Quality Remodel. They transformed our unfinished basement and improved upon the existing layout for better flow and aesthetics. We have previously done our own remodels and buildouts but decided to contract out this project and we couldn’t be happier. They worked as a team, with professionalism, constant communication, monthly itemized bills with receipts to back them up and responded quickly to any feedback we had. They have a well run organization and I will definitely call them again if needed and recommend them to friends.
I'm currently in the middle of a basement remodel with NWQRD. They are GREAT! I interviewed many contractors through the years while I contemplated the project and feel lucky I found these guys. They are true professionals. The office team is easy to work with, Terry adds a level of knowledge and connections with the industry that is rare to find, and the workers on site are craftsmen at what they do, and are clean, courteous. Would absolutely recommend them, and would use their services again.
We really enjoyed the remodel staff that worked an extensive 3 month project in our home. They were professional, friendly and skilled. Great quality results!
These guys are awsome!! On time and in budget. Can't ask for more
Very professional outstanding service great pricing, project came in below quote, owner Robert does what he says when he says no issues no worries with the company highly recommended
We could not be happier with the deck they designed and built for us. Great customer service and they do what they say they are going to do!
Planning a deck, patio cover, remodel, or addition comes with important questions. Here are a few of the things homeowners in Snohomish and surrounding areas ask us most often.
Many exterior and structural projects in Snohomish County require permits, especially when they involve foundations, roof structures, covered spaces, or substantial framing. Permit requirements can vary by scope and location, so it is smart to review local guidance before building.
For example, decks, porches, steps, and broader residential construction may fall under county permitting and setback rules depending on height, coverage, and design details.
If you're unsure where to start, we can help guide you through the permitting process. From preparing drawings and documentation to coordinating with the county, our team helps streamline approvals so your project stays on track.
Many exterior and structural projects in King County require permits, especially when they involve foundations, roof structures, covered areas, or major framing. Requirements vary based on project scope and whether your property falls within a specific city or unincorporated King County.
Projects like decks, patio covers, and home additions are typically reviewed for structural safety, zoning setbacks, and overall compliance with Washington building codes.
Residential deck construction and many remodeling details in Washington are tied to the state building code, which adopts and amends model code language. That means framing, guards, stairs, posts, footings, and related details should be built with the adopted code in mind.
Washington uses state amendments alongside national model codes, so it is important to look at both the Washington-specific code framework and the underlying residential code provisions.
In Washington, contractors performing this type of work generally need to be properly registered, and homeowners should verify registration status before signing a contract. This helps confirm the contractor is operating within the state’s registration system and consumer protection framework.
It is also wise to review contractor law resources and verify that the business information you receive matches official records.

Before building, it helps to think through how you want the space to function, how it connects to your home, and whether height, coverage, or property lines could affect design choices. Layout, drainage, stairs, guards, and structural support should all be considered early.
A good plan also accounts for local review requirements and code-based details so the finished project is both useful and compliant.
Yes, many homeowners prefer working with one qualified contractor for connected projects because it helps keep design, scheduling, and communication more consistent. This is especially helpful when a project blends outdoor construction with structural upgrades or residential remodeling work.
The key is making sure the scope is planned correctly and that permitting and code requirements are addressed for each portion of the work.
Decades of hands-on construction knowledge applied to outdoor living, remodeling, and structural improvements.
A long track record of completed builds and satisfied clients across a wide range of residential projects.
